Known for its unique grid-like layout and beautiful modernista architecture, the central district of Eixample is a popular area for both locals and tourists due to its proximity to the city centre and many of Barcelona’s top attractions. The Eixample district saw the highest number of sales transactions in 2022, with a total of 2,737 sales. This represents an increase of 28.56% compared to the previous year.

Property prices in Eixample are some of the highest in the city, with the average price per square metre ending 2022 on €4,887, an increase of 6.42% compared to the end of 2021, according to leading property portal Idealista.

Rental prices ended the year on €19.2 per square metre, an annual increase of 26.32%, again according to leading property portal Idealista.

Barcelona Old Town

A total of 1,290 sales transactions were carried out in Barcelona Old Town in 2022, an increase of 25.36% compared to the previous year.

The average property price at the end of 2022 was €4,153 per square metre, an increase of 3.8% on average prices at the end of 2021.

Sarrià-Sant Gervasi

Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, an affluent residential district in the northwest of Barcelona, saw a total of 1,417 sales transactions in 2022. This represents an increase of 20.70 % compared to the previous year.

Property prices in this desirable neighbourhood remain some of the highest in Barcelona. Average property prices ended 2022 on €5,462 per square metre, an increase of 3.76% on prices at the end of 2021.

Rental prices ended the year on €20 per square metre, an annual increase of 25.79%.

Gràcia

A total of 1,301 sales transactions took place in Gràcia in 2022, an increase of 21.36% compared to the previous year.

Property prices in Gràcia are now some of the highest in the city, with the average price ending 2022 on €4,392 per square metre, showing an increase of 2.38% compared to the end of 2021. Rental prices ended the year on €17.3 per square metre, an annual increase of 20.14%.

Les Corts
