The expensive area of Barcelona is made up of 3 main neighbourhoods that stand out from the rest: Pedralbes, Sarrià and Sant Gervasi. Although all of them offer a unique standard of living, each one has different characteristics to consider. Therefore, it is important that you know all the options you have to choose the one that best suits you and your family.

Pedrables neighborhood

This neighbourhood is surrounded by nature, so much so that there are some houses that border the groves, forming a unique landscape. It has 11,862 inhabitants, is part of the district of Les Corts, and in another post of our blog we talked about everything you should know about living in Pedralbes.

Pedralbes is home to the Royal Palace, the Monastery of Pedralbes and the Torre Güell, as well as large gardens where very important and sophisticated events are held. The Sarrià neighbourhood

Sarrià, unlike what many people think, is not a village, but a neighbourhood. It has a population of approximately 24,799 people, and in another article we talked in more detail about living in Sarrià.

It is located in the natural park of Collserola, so many of its inhabitants have the feeling of living in an independent town. The Sant Gervasi neighbourhood

Both the Sant Gervasi – Bonanova and Sant Gervasi – Galvany neighbourhoods are known for being part of the fifth district of Barcelona: Sarrià – Sant Gervasi. They are some of the greenest neighbourhoods in the city and are recognised as one of the lungs of Barcelona. As well as being characterised by this, they are also known for the fact that their inhabitants have an income that is more than double the average of the other neighbourhoods of Barcelona.

What is the highest area in Barcelona?

We haven’t talked about it yet, because they say that the best things come to the end of the day. The highest socio-economic area in Barcelona is the Tres Torres neighbourhood. This neighbourhood has the highest socio-economic level in Catalonia.

It is part of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district and is home to large, luxurious residences, mostly of the Catalan bourgeoisie. It is home to the largest shopping centres in Barcelona, such as El Corte Inglés and Illa Diagonal.
