The Eixample district is one of the most distinctive in Barcelona due to its urban structure. It’s a dynamic area that includes the main roads of the city and also buildings and monuments that mark the history of the city. Bcn Advisors offers you the most exclusive flats that are a showcase of the fantastic Catalan architecture.
The Eixample was built at the end of the 19th century and is an example of urban layout. Its wide streets follow a grid structure that creates islands of octagonal-shaped buildings with large interior courtyards. Therefore, it is a perfect and very quiet place to live and is perfectly connected to the rest of the city.
The properties in the Eixample have their own features that define their unique style and the charm of living in the city of Barcelona. High ceilings, hydraulic floors with mosaics or traditional balconies are some of the best examples. The most important neighbourhood is La Dreta (right side), which is home to numerous offices of important companies in places such as Passeig de Gràcia. Here we find classical buildings and regal estate ones with refurbished apartments that have preserved the historical essence.
In Esquerra del Eixample (left side), which is divided into La Nova Esquerra (the new part) and L’Antiga Esquerra (the old part), we find more recent buildings, as it was built later than La Dreta, and a more marked residential character. On a social and economic level, it’s an important neighbourhood with a lively leisure offer, bars and restaurants. La Sagrada Família is a quiet and very pleasant neighbourhood around the most emblematic monument of the city. Here the prices of the properties are somewhat lower, maintaining the Barcelona style recognized all over the world and also a perfect connection by public transport.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning the two most popular zones of the Eixample: Sant Antoni and El Fort Pienc. Sant Antoni is the perfect place to enjoy the best of the Eixample and the historical centre of the city, as it is located between both areas. It maintains the architectural style, but the properties are usually well conserved and more spacious and bright.
